Hello! I've sent a couple of very informative emails for those who have combined vision and hearing loss. One was for the Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This council is a board that Governor Rick Scott appointed me to as an individual representing Deaf Blind Floridians. I take my role there sereiously and I want to encourage all who live in the Tampa area to attend the Public Comment. We want to hear from you. Members of the board represent Department of Children and Families, Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Department of Elderly Affiars, Audiologists, Hearing Aid Specialists, Hearing Loss of Florida Assocation, Florida Assocaition of the Deaf, Parent of a deaf, hearing of hearing or deaf blind child, Alexander Graham Bell Representative and a representative from the Florida Registry of Interpretes for the Deaf. To read more about FCCDHH, go to www.fccdhh.org.

The other email I sent was about a video that is on the Helen Keller National Center website. The video demonstrates how a Deaf Blind person can use technology for independent living activities, on the job, in school and in the community. It also shows, how the person who is signing should be in a video so that those who have low vision can see the signs. AND it also has video description for those who cannot see the action of the video! HKNC is very proactive about providng information for those who have combined vision and hearing loss! So be sure to check out this video. You can go to www.hknc.org and scroll to the bottom under the National Deaf Blind Equipment Disbursement Program link and click on Techncology for the Deaf Blind. Enjoy! And be sure to spread the word!

I would like to know why my emails keep getting unscubscribed...this is the third time it has happened in the past few months.
Thank you!
