[Nfbf-l] Fw: FCC Rules to Destroy the Internet as we know it

I think Dwight wasn't aware that President Obama is actually glad for how
things turned out. From what I understand, if net neutrality is done away
with, then the big companies can control the Internet, much as they now
control the airwaves. I don't understand the part about Obama being against
net neutrality either and don't like the word ddecrees.

Good morning.

Are we sure we should be opposed to these proposed regulations.

Isn't this proposal the opposite of what its opponents claim? I thought I
understood this proposal to be aimed at treating the Internet more like a
utility, thus ensuring availability at a reasonable price and speed for all,
rather than being destructive of equal access, as Dwight's message seems to
imply. But perhaps I've been listening to too much liberal media, what do I
know.

Further, I object to the characterization of seemingly all of President
Obama's regulatory actions as decrees, that word really riles me, as if
somehow he has become a dictator. After a;ll, the FCC, as has been pointed
out, will have an opportunity to vote on the issue as the normal regulatory
process calls for. Congress does not need to micromanage every executive
action, as some would have you believe, though I wish they would actually
legislate on . some important matters, rather than just complaining about
what the executive branch is doing.

Dwight Sayer has asked me to pass on the following. It is very important
that we act on this. Thanks.

Sherri,

Please pass along this urgent request to Denise Valkema and the NFB
lists .

Immediately call your representatives in Washington Dc and ask them to Kill

the implementation of the New FCC Rules

To regulate the internet. If this goes through our costs to access the
internet will be driven up and the regulations guiding the use and access
will destroy this incredible tool for all of us. Feb 26 is the
implementation date from President Obama who has directed this by
presidential decree rather than by congressional acts from our elected
officials.

Kill the Rules Now!

Dwight

Dwight D. Sayer

President,
