I totally agree with you. I have been so busy I forgot to make paratransit
arrangements, but hope I can make it. I really wanted to discuss Newsline.

Dear Lenora and all contributors to this announcement:

Thank you very much for the notification(s). I do have a comment/question
for anyone to ponder and come up with a suggestion for future meetings of
this type. Why are the announcement(s) advertised a day or 2 before public
hearing(s)? Is there something that we as the
public/citizens/consumers/advocates can do to get the information in a
timelier manner to participate in the process. Yesterday was the 25th
anniversary of the signing of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990
which is referenced in the meeting announcement. It requires a 10 day
minimum lead in time to contact the agency for accommodation(s). Is there
someway to impress upon the schedulers of public events such as these to
communicate this information when they finish all their negotiations with
the venue where an event will be held and enter it on an alert calendar as
the time counts down to the meeting so they will be able to send reminders
out to their board members or constituents? Then it falls on our
responsibility to ask for accommodations or ask questions and make
arrangements to set the time aside to participate. This also includes
recognition that underserved populations may not have a computer, cellphone,
or other communication device to receive "instant information." Thank you
all, again, for doing the best you can to get the word out. I hope that I
might have inspired to build "the better mousetrap" I know we cannot reach
all, but we can give it a try

Let's work together for a better Florida,

  Judy
