> Social Security Administration Announces No Cost-of-Living Increases for 2016
> The Social Security Administration (SSA) recently announced that there will not be a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase for Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits in 2016. The Social Security Act provides for an automatic increase in Social Security and SSI benefits if there is growth in inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers. Since consumer prices were down in 2015, there will not be a COLA for 2016. Learn more by visiting SSA.gov.

> Three More State Health Cooperatives to Shut Down
> Over the past week, it has been announced that three more state health cooperatives will be shut down. The three states that will lose their health co-ops are Oregon, Tennessee, and Colorado. The Colorado HealthOP has been forced by state regulators to shut down by the end of 2015. In Oregon, Health Republic will pull its plans from the 2016 market and shut down. Health Republic will pay its members claims this year, but will not sell plans in 2016. It is estimated that 27,000 customers will lose their health insurance beginning November 1, 2015 in Tennessee. Read the statement from the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Learn more about state health co-ops and their futures from The Washington Post.
