For some reason I didn't see the original post on this topic or I would have
responded then. This is good advice so give it a try and I think it will
help. Thanks to Elizabeth for this helpful info.

I want to mention something here for those of you who do not know it
Microsoft has a toll free support line for those with accessibility problems
as well as other Microsoft related issues. Though they are aware of all of
the different access tech products out there they can't possibly know all of
the keystrokes etc so if your problem seems to be a question about your
screen reader or what ever it might be you should probably speak with the
product manufacturer before calling MS for help. Their toll free number is
800 963 5900.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Kathy,

Alternatively, your view options in the word processer may have been
accidentally changed. Depending on which word processer you use, the place
to look is in options The view tab will show paragraph marks, and space
marks. There also is an option for all. If all is checked, that's what
you should uncheck. Otherwise, uncheck spaces and paragraphs.

Hi Kathy
Press insert plus v, or insert plus function plus V, depending on your
computer model, and that brings up the quick settings.
There you'll find all the options that you need, including a check box for
"announce all new lines and new paragraphs.
Just make sure to uncheck anything you don't want it to announce and that
should solve the issue.
