To the NFBF Ellsworth family,

Jim and my eldest son were diagnosed with lung cancer about the same time. Jim went on a new, promising treatment in/about January 2014. I had been following Kim's posts, eager for any new treatment plan protocol for what had become "my two boys". This early 2014 med and therapeutics was too late for my son, 56, who passed Nov 2014.

I continued reading Kim's posts and Jim's entries until they stopped. It is always a deep sorrow we feel when one long loved is no longer sitting at the dinner table. I can assure you truly "Joy comes in the morning".

I have missed out in meeting Jim and Kim. Yet I know them more deeply through our shared walk.

Jim's courage and resilience throughout his tough fight to beat this insidious thing gave me strength. Yes, an unnamed kind of strength to meet each day.
Kim, thank you for posts of courage and hope. Yes, the hope that perhaps today your post would be the day "my two boys" (all people on earth) would hear the long awaited treatment news of a cure.
It is coming. "My two boys" are very busy.

Condolences to Kim and her family...and all the NFB family and friends who loved Jim. We will carry on to others what we most loved and admired about Jim.

Blessings,
Brooke Evans

To NFB of Florida Friends, Kim and Family

In my earliest days with the world of computers, Jim Ellsworth was always
there with sound, understandable advice.
His patience and the way he spoke to me were adjusted to my obvious loss of
hearing as well as vision. As the years
passed, I got better at a lot of the technology...but he was always there
and returned my calls when I got deep into
the weeds of being so technologically challenged.

Jim's enduring friendship and support are now gone from this earth. The
sound of his warm and friendly conversation
are no longer to be heard by earthlings. Kim must now face the future as a
single parent; the NFBF and NFB members
can no longer turn to that special person when "in the weeds"
Nevertheless, we are all stronger, more knowledgeable
and better people for having known this most wonderful man.

Sincere condolences to Kim, her family and those closest to Jim over the
years. I will not forget those "ah, ha" moments
and Jim's understanding of my challenges when we concluded our
conversations.

Jim, rest in peace Dear Soul. You are now in the palm of God's hand. We
shall meet again....and we know you will have
all your equipment slung over your shoulder....ready to fix problems and
share new information.

Sincerely...and with prayers for the family

Joe and Arlene Naulty

Dear NFBF Friends, Kim and Family,
Today marks a sad time in the history of our organization as well as a
tremendous loss of a good friend. Jim Ellsworth was such a bright, kind and
giving person - always ready to help me or others with computer challenges.
I had the privilege to serve on the NFBF Board of Directors with Jim for
several years and got to know him well years ago when Wayne Davis was NFBF
President.
Over the years, I became acquainted with Kim, Jim's lovely and most
wonderful wife. Kim is a very unique person - so bright with solving
computer issues, so caring and giving to her beloved husband and in general,
just a terrific person.
Jim fought a most valiant fight against the ravages of cancer with such
determination no matter the challenge or the pain. Jim and Kim shared a
beautiful relationship as husband and wife. Kim, you can rest assured that
no one was ever a better caregiver to her husband. Through the years of
fighting Jim's illness, you hung there through the bitter and the better. I
admire and respect you so very much.
Now the time has come when you must say goodbye to your beloved husband
until you are once more reunited in Heaven. We must remember that we are all
reaching out to Kim now but we must continue to do so in the weeks and
months ahead as she will be feeling such a sense of loss and even purpose
for a while. I have walked that walk when I lost my wonderful Tom and it is
one of the toughest challenges a wife can face - saying goodbye to a beloved
spouse. Kim, please remember that Jim loved you so deeply and he so wanted
to live. He is now free from the relentless battle with cancer and now is at
Pease with our Lord and Savior. Please lean on Christ Jesus for your
strength during this time of loss and challenge. He is always with you!
It is with great sorrow that I say goodbye for now to a most terrific man,
husband, father and friend. We will see you again on the other side!

With love and appreciation,

Kathy Davis

Florida federationists,

It is with heavy heart that I have been asked by President Ball to let you
know that Jim Ellsworth has passed away. Please do not send flowers but a a
charity will be shared at a later date to contribute in memory of Jim.

Jim was one of the first federationists I met at my first NFB meeting in
Pinellas. He gave technology seminars at our state convention. He mentored
me and supported me during my husband's health struggles. I remember him
always being a good listener, patient, offered good advice, was fun to be
with, and a great friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kim, family, and the Pinellas chapter.

Denise Valkema, President NFBF
