[Nfbf-l] Preparing For My Meeting with Dbs

I've never attended one of these programs, but have always wanted to. My
work schedule now would prevent me from doing so for now. What I'd say
though, is if you plan to attend a program, and you currently live with
family who plays a primary role in doing things for you, then you and they
have to prepair for the change that will come from obtaining the training.
Once you attend a program, and skills are learned, you want to put those
skills in to practice. If you live with over protective, but well meaning
family, they will want things to often remain the way they have always been
because that is what is comfortable. Just be ready to let them know what you
can and want to do independently. Even if they are there to support you,
once you receive the training, they will no longer have to play a care
taking role. It can be a struggle.
