Dear Carlos,
God has brought you and I together over the years since I first met you when
I was heading up the NFBF Scholarship Program and you were selected as a
recipient. We have attended The Seeing Eye together, The Louisiana Center
for the Blind and you moved here from Tallahassee where we have enjoyed
worshiping together for many years.
It has been difficult for me to keep your good news to myself until you were
ready to share it with others. It is only appropriate and a tremendous
source of Pride that I join in your excitement as you begin a new chapter of
your life in Iowa. I will miss our times together at Tomoka Christian but
after all, you will only be a phone call away. You will be a tremendous
asset to the Iowa Commission for the Blind. It takes determination and
confidence to go out there, interview, spend a couple of days there and make
the kind of obvious favorable impression you succeeding in Accomplishing. My
heart swells with pride for you and I will eagerly await hearing all about
your new job and what Iowa is like.
Congratulations my friend! I will miss you!

With love and friendship,

Kathy Davis

Good afternoon to my fedaration family. I hope that you all are doing well.
As many of you know, I have not been as active in the organization because
of other commitments. As many of you also know I have been working with the
Division of Blind Services for the past almost six years as a vr counselor.
I have grown so much as a person and as a professional. I have seen the
Division go through a transition in terms of leadership. I want to thank
Kathy Davis and Peter Cerullo as well as many others who have assisted me
through out the last six years. But it is now time for me to move on in my
life and career. I have been blessed with the opportunity to have been
chosen to work for the Iowa Department for the Blind. I will be working as a
counselor. This is a wonderful organization that was ones led by former
President of the nfb Kenneth Jernigan. I am excited about this opportunity
and I will miss the Florida weather as I will now experience lots of snow.
Lets keep in touch and May God bless you all.
