[Dan Hicks]

Dear Federation friends, 

I want to thank Denise for her warm and thoughtful message. Last weekend
Gloria and I flew out to Salt Lake to attend the funeral and help with some
of the arrangements. It was very nice to see so many friends and family
members. I wish it had been for a happier event. 

As Denise mentioned, my dad was an active member of the NFB of Utah. He had
been president of the Salt Lake Chapter for a time. My Mom was once NFB of
Utah State Treasurer for a few years. The two of them had attended at least
one Washington Seminar, several state and national conventions, and worked
on NFB projects. My dad received a special award at the NFBU state
convention a couple of years ago. 

I thank all of you for the messages of condolence and support that you have
sent out over these lists and in other ways. Gloria, my family, and I all
appreciate your warm thoughts and comments.

Federation family,

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Al Hicks, our own Dan Hicks's
father. Dan received the news Thanksgiving morning. Al  was a long time
Federation is in Utah. President Riccobono mentioned this news on his last
presidential release. Maybe Dan would like to share more about his father
with us on the lists as one of our own family members like he did on
Facebook.
