[Nfbf-l] Issue on faith committees

Well, I should just let this go and let you all feel like you understand this matter of interfaith collaboration, and I'll probably do that, but let me first ask you all to ponder some questions.

Everybody can say the word love, as if this ends the conversation.

1. Does your denomination teach, and do you believe, that God certainly does not hear the prayers of Muslims, Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, Baha'is? Many churches teach this, and also talk of love.

2. Does your denomination teach, and do you believe, that since they may not share beliefs that you consider fundamental, that Baha'is, or Catholics, or Protestants, or Muslims, or Mormons, or Jews are certainly not going to heaven, however wonderful they might otherwise be? Many faith groups teach this, and yet they talk of love.

 3. Would you happily organize or attend a workshop where Muslims, Mormons, Baha'is, Jews and others could share with attendees information about accessible resources for exploring and practicing their faiths, even though adherents may not be, according to your definition, believers? Believers in many faith groups would avoid such a gathering, and talk of love.

4. Would you happily attend or organize a prayer session where prayers from the organizations I've been mentioning, and others, would be shared as well as more familiar Christian prayers? Believers in many denominations would not associate with such a gathering, yet they will talk of love.

If you cannot answer sincerely in the affirmative to these questions, please understand that if you are talking about any sort of religious activity, that believers in the faiths I mentioned, and others, will not feel, and will probably not be, really welcome.

Dean

Dear All,

Just as a follow-up, this song won an award for what is known as "posi (positive) Music" and has been described as "absolute Truth in two words". If anyone would like the entire song performed by the singer/songwriter Daniel Nahmod, please send me a message off-list to

Marion.gwizdala at verizon.net

Blessings!
Marion

Thank you for sharing this verse. It all comes down to one principle: Love one another.
