Hello Carol:

It’s me Debbie Ryan. Long tine no talk giggle.

Hope your feeling fine now.

I will not be on the call at this time but things can change.

However, your doing it the hard way in my way of thinking.

Instead go to the email Russ, sent, go to where the Zoom link is after the word zoom and once I hear the “j” I hit enter and it goes directly into the room. That is if your on a computer, smart phone or smartpad.

You don’t need the other numbers. Typically you go directly to the zoom tab to open then launch and bingo you here voices and laughter.

Hopefully this will take the scare and stress out of it.

     Warmest Regards,

     Long Time Friend, Debbie

Once again, I am hoping. Going to set an Alexa alarm but haven’t much confidence in the ZOOM and don’t know if anyone will be here to tell me what I am doing wrong. I wish the I/D didn’t have so many numbers as when I read it and try to copy to the phone, it gives up on me before I am finished.

Good afternoon everyone,

All it took last Thursday during our Christmas Eve call was a tiny suggestion that we have a New Year’s Eve Sunrise and Shine bash and, “”whoomp, there it is”!

Sneaking this final call of 2020 into the Rise and Shine schedule was one piece of exciting news for fans of the call , the other piece of really terrific news is that Brittany Fraer has graciously agreed to guest host the party. Brittany has been coming to our calls since the beginning and I am so thrilled that she is willing to take over the hosting duties for this week. The only thing I worry about is that, she will find out just how much fun I have each week and won’t want to give up the seat of power. Brittany has promised me that everyone will have a great time tomorrow morning, she must have some fun ideas up her sleeve. Believe me when I tell you, you don’t want to miss the chance to hang out with Brittany and all those dialing in.

Before I forget, I will give you a little info about our first call of 2021. On Thursday, January 7th, Sunrise and Shine will be honored by a special guest speaker. Peggy Chong, known by so many as, “The Blind History Lady”, will be with us at 10:00 a.m. She will speak to us about what it’s like to write all of those fascinating stories and about the wonderful books she has published. Peggy is also a former national director of NFB Newsline, so of course, you know I will ask her to tell us all a bit about NFB Newsline history.

Kaye Baker, President of the Greater Jacksonville Chapter of the NFB of Florida will also stop by and will bring us up to date on the latest Federal stimulus payment news.

Our first meeting of the year certainly promises to be packed with fun. We, of course, have to get through New Year’s first :o)

We always have a great time together, learning a bit about NFB Newsline, learning from one another and sharing what we've been up to. Tomorrow morning, December 31st, at 10:00 a.m., we'll do just that!

I hope you will take the time to stop by and say hello. If you haven't yet joined us on these fantastic Zoom calls, I know you will find the regulars who have been joining us since the beginning, to be warm and welcoming. Sometimes the chatter gets a bit lively, but that's all part of the fun, or maybe it’s just everyone gearing up for their festive New Year’s Eve parties! Go ahead, dig out those noise makers and funny hats.

Again, we will use the Zoom platform for the call, but if you haven't spent much time on Zoom, don't let that keep you away either. There are several different ways to call in, including the familiar conference call method of using your landline or mobile phone to dial a phone number and access code. I hope that with Sunrise and Shines out of the ordinary time slot , we will get to hear from some of the family and friends we have been missing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me before the call at our NFB Newsline of Florida toll-free support line. Check the bottom of this email for the Zoom call-in instructions. Looking forward to visiting with you this Thursday. Who’s bringing the hot soup, warm blankets and the fake fireplace logs??
