I’m excited to report that on Tuesday, January 19th a nationwide call was held to go over the four key legislative initiatives. I notified you all about the Zoom call, Floridians turned out in mass. There were over 200 participants on the call from all across the U.S, of those, at least 35 were from the Sunshine State. Way to go Florida! Recently, Fact Sheets for the 4 initiatives were sent out by email to you all, and hopefully you have had a chance to look them over.

One such call will take place tonight, Thursday January 21st at 8:00 p.m. This Zoom call is being hosted by our National office’s Advocacy and Policy Team led by Executive Director John Pare. Tonight’s call will feature a demonstration of how meetings with Legislators and their staff members might look, these demonstrations will take the form of a “mock meeting”. Someone on the Advocacy and Policy team will play the role of the elected official and others will play the role of Washington Seminarians from the Federation, (that might just be you), and will present the issues and provide the solutions in the form of proposed legislative initiatives. I’ve attended many of these types of mock meetings in the past and they are always informative and fun to witness. I think you will enjoy them too. John Pare encouraged the State Legislative Directors to invite members of their Affiliates to join in on the call tonight.

If you are interested in being part of one of the four Florida breakout teams and lending support to our efforts, please don’t hesitate to contact the team lead covering your US. Congressional district. The Florida team assignments are listed below.
