Thank you to Ms. Camille Tate for the presentation of The Timeline for Women’s History Month this evening. Her speech was very well done , we all learned a great deal about Women’s History and Voting rights in the United States. We have provided the link for you to review later in your spare time. Thank you Camille for your work on this program. Also thank you to Mrs. Peggy Fleischer for assistance with sending our zoom information for the meeting to everyone.

Going forward, some topics that we will cover include Voting Rights and Accessibility for the Blind, COVID 19 information, Guardianship, Mental Health and Minority Communities, as well as Transportation Disadvantaged Programs. Please, I urge each Chapter President to assign one or two representatives to attend our Diversity Committee meetings and report back to your Chapters what they learned. We meet on the first Wednesday evening of each month at 8 pm. I invite everyone to please attend our April meeting where we plan to discuss Voting and Accessibility for Blind persons.

The next Diversity and Inclusion Committee meeting will be held on April 7, 2021 at 8pm. Please save the date and join us as we share information of importance to our members and friends in the Florida Affiliate. You may contact me if you have questions or concerns that you think the Diversity Committee can assist with. We are here to advocate for the needs of people who feel that they are left out, or underserved. Perhaps you have recently lost your vision, and do not know where to obtain information on services and programs for the Blind. Together we will try to help you with your issues or concerns.
