Dear Fahad,
I often say that my kitchen is my favorite room in the
house. I love to cook and love to share my cooking with my friends, whether
that means sharing food or techniques. In fact, my wife and I are planning
to have cooking classes in our home soon!
There is a wealth of information about a variety of things
here and I am certain there are more amateur (or even less) chefs out here.
I at least know there are lots of people who love to eat and I count myself
among them. That's why I love to cook!
What is your biggest challenge in the kitchen? Is there
something you would like to learn or a recipe you would like to try?
I recently got a cast iron 2-burner skillet and I am working
to get the heat levels consistent. I am working on my omelet technique but,
so far, they are scrambled eggs! (smile)I love to bake pastries and bread.
My signature dishes are shellfish lasagna and something I call "Messy
Mikes", aka, Sloppy Joes. I love to smoke meat and fish and had a smoker
with an offset firebox. Let us know what you would like to learn and someone
out here will likely be able to tell you how to do it!
Fraternally yours,
Marion

Subject: [NFBF-L] Inquiry
Hello,
My name is Fahad, and I hope you are all doing well. I am reaching out to
ask if anyone knows of any organizations or entities that teach adaptive
cooking to blind or visually impaired individuals in the Jacksonville area.
I heard of VERC, but they are not willing to work with me, and I haven't
received any long-term or practical solutions from my DBS counselor. I would
love to know what my options are.
Thank you.
