[NFBF-L] Final Reminder: Florida Statewide Chapter Meeting Today - 8:00 PM EST
Florida Statewide Chapter Secretary
statewide at nfbflorida.org
Sun Dec 21 19:42:02 UTC 2025
Hello Statewide Advocates,
I hope you are all doing well. This is a reminder of our upcoming statewide
chapter meeting, which will take place *today* at 8:00 PM EST.
One of the highlights of this meeting will be an engaging and informative
presentation on Lighthouses of the Blind, hosted by Statewide Chapter board
members Scott Wilson and Brittany Fraer. Scott, an Assistive Technology
Instructor, and Brittany, an Independent Living Skills Instructor, will
showcase the wide range of services offered by their local Lighthouse and
explain how these programs empower blind individuals to live independently,
build skills, and pursue their goals. Whether you are already familiar with
your local Lighthouse or have never explored its offerings, this
presentation is a great opportunity to learn how these organizations can be
a powerful resource for you.
I would also like to remind everyone about chapter dues. As the year comes
to a close, it is time to submit dues to remain an active member of the
chapter. Annual dues are $10.00 and are paid once per year. These funds
support our treasury, legislative efforts, member support for conventions,
and other chapter initiatives.
You may pay your dues using one of the following methods:
1.
Zelle: Send $10.00 to nfbf.statewide at gmail.com. Please include “Your
Name Statewide Dues” in the “What is this for?” field.
2.
PayPal: Use the affiliate PayPal account <https://paypal.me/nfbf> and
include “Your Name Statewide Chapter Dues” in the memo or payment
description. This is very important so we can ensure the funds are
properly allocated to our chapter, as the PayPal account is used by the
entire affiliate.
3.
Check: If you prefer to pay by check, please email me at
statewide at nfbflorida.org or contact Scott Wilson directly for mailing
instructions. Be sure to write “Statewide Chapter Dues” in the memo line.
Additionally, please remember to complete our Google Form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfB8VUYoqEEwK6-XKYPWTimVWTtab5Coy1pTiKX6KFBDPVIdg/viewform?usp=header>.
This form allows us to keep our records up to date and is required for
reporting to both our affiliate and national headquarters.
If you have any questions or need assistance completing the form, feel free
to email me at statewide at nfbflorida.org. I will also plan to join the
meeting approximately 15 minutes early to assist anyone who needs help.
Finally, the minutes from last month’s meeting have been released via
email. Please refer to the email with the subject “FSWC Monthly Business
Meeting Minutes” for the minutes.
I look forward to seeing all of you at our next meeting. Until then, I hope
you have a great rest of your day.
Best regards,
Jose

Jose Bohorquez, Secretary
Florida Statewide Chapter - National Federation of the Blind of Florida
"We know that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or our
future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low
expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. Our
collective power, determination, and diversity achieve the aspirations of
all blind people."
