[nfbmi-talk] Amtrak Information for National Convention.

Though they'll tell you this on the phone, the conductors won't care and
can't really since you do have a ticket on the train which passes your city.
I know it was brought up that if we can get 20 from Lansing and 20 from
Dearborn/Detroit then we could just get two group rates if there was that
much interest. Guess we should figure that out first.
The final alternative would be to get a group rate from Chicago and have
people get there, though this is a bit more work for everyone.

So does this mean we cannot board the train while it is in route as it was
discussed during the conference call? I mean is it really going to matter
all that much if the tickets say that we are getting on at Dearborn, but we
get on at Jackson or Kalamazoo instead?

Although now that I think about it a bit more, an individual ticket from
Lansing might be about the same price once you factor in the cost getting to
and from the train station. When I checked on the price for Lansing, it was
about $260 which would be about the same or even a little less than taking
the Michigan Flyer to Jackson to board the train with a group ticket. If
this is the case, then I’m not sure why anyone from Lansing would want to
bother with the additional hassle with the group ticket if they can get one
from Lansing at the same price.
