Hi,

Larry and I talked to Gregg Grabowski at leader dog about working on
Rochester's transportation millage which is coming up for vote in january or
February, as I recall. He is no longer at leaderdog, so I don't know if
they are still interested in working on this issue. Regardless, this would
be a good project for the new dog guide division to work on along with
Leader Dog. If this were successful or even helped us learn how to mount a
grass roots or should I Say Routes, campaign, we would be a winner outfit.
We are an action organization, so complaining is not an option, we need to
get the voters out to support transit.

Warmest Regards,

Fred

In Oakland County, there is curb to curb SMART service for us but only
in certain cities. Each city must be willing to pay into this system
meaning Waterford, Rochester, Keego Harbor and others choose to stay
out of this option.

Where does this leave us who can not drive, have money to pay for
drivers, and want to expand our ability to participate in activites to
broaden our life.

How can this be changed when the county board has turned down automatic
participation inthe SMART service. Maybe there is no answer but the
need is certainly there.
