Great! Pleased to see that someone within government is advancing the cause
of the law in place for the benefit of we the blind and other persons with
disabilities! It is all about access brings us closer to equality,
opportunity, and security. Where have I heard that phrase repeatedly
throughout my life?
The Justice Department announced today that it has entered into a settlement
agreement with the Newseum, Inc. resolving alleged violations of the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  This agreement addresses the
accessibility of the Newseum, Inc.’s building, exhibitions, programs, and
website for visitors with disabilities, including people who are blind or
have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have mobility
disabilities.  The Newseum has fully cooperated with the compliance review
and has remedied and continues to remedy some of the alleged violations
identified by the United States.
To find out more about the ADA or this settlement, call the Justice
Department’s toll-free ADA Information Line at 800-514-0301 or 800-514-0383
(TDD), or access its ADA.gov website.
