Well said Christine and J.J. There are so many good people doing great
work to promote Braille Literacy in our state! It is the guidance and
strength of people in this group, and school administrators such as
Collette Bauman, that keeps me advocating for better services and equality
for the young blind students in Michigan. Just this week, I received
three requests to help with providing advocates for families in need of
Braille services and I relied on MDE-LIO employees, community advocacy
groups, and information from many of my NFB friends to create replies to
help each family. All three families were set on a positive path. This
is truly a collaborative group effort.

Good luck to our very own Terri Wilcox who will be taking the Braille test.
Our family owes so much to the years of braille tutoring that she did for
us and for the years of mentoring that both Nick and Terry have offered us
through the Wash. Library for the Blind and the Ann Arbor NFB! The
volunteer work she and Nick do for our community is invaluable!

Amy
