Hi Terry and All,
This one is just phrased in a contradictory manner. Clearly this is supposed
to be an intern position for a Masters Degree candidate in a Vision Rehab
Therapist program. And one must have passed all course work and a practicum.
Thus there is, contradictory to "no specific requirements" in the standard
boiler plate, does indeed require specifics and experience.

Being issued through civil service this is clearly a a pipeline to the
Western Michigan Program which is the only one in this state. Anyway at
least this one, WMU methods to the side, has something to do with
rehabilitation services for people who are blind and thus, is a bit
different than the other gopher postings and employment "slush funds". In
short this is an intern program for a Master's candidate in the instruction
of blind people in the basic skills of blindness except for travel; things
like adaptive cooking techniques, other activities of daily living, intro to
Braille etc... All quite critical especially for the newly blinded person.
Now I don't think, personally one needs a Masters degree to do this, but it
is nonetheless important and it is the first of these jobs I've seen that at
least deals with the core rehabilitation (which means re-education) of
people who are blind; teaching the skills of blindness, which is one of the
core missions supposedly of BSBP!

Regardless the clowns at civil service and BSBP clearly can't upgrade these
job descriptions, etc. to even make logical sense so I understand your
confusion on the matter.
