Hello Donna,

Is this event being sponsored by the NFB of Michigan? I am rather concerned
about what was said about background checks in this email, and I want to
make sure the state affiliate is not being put at risk for failing to
perform background checks on all adults who work with children.

As I understand it, state law requires all adults working with children to
undergo a background check. The fact that you are assuming someone has
cleared a background check rather than perform the background check sends up
a lot of red flags to me and appears to be in violation of state law.

Hopefully the actions described in this email are not putting the state
affiliate at risk.

Hi Lydia, It looks like we are having sloppy joes fFriday night around six
since some people will come later than others. Also, please let me know
about numbers of participants for meals. I am assuming that you have a
background check from Western. It is an issue when sleeping in the same area
