This should disgust everyone. First, of all this is segregated employment and why a Center for Independent Living would be involved in that defies the integration mandate of the ADA and Employment First principles.

 

Moreover, Peckham is still being investigated for fraud by the Department of Justice.

 

Finally the transportation alluded to in the last sentence is typical Peckham horse hockey. They give away nothing. The transportation is from my Mass Transportation Authority and funded with taxpayer’s dollars. Moreover, the workers will pay $80 per month for this transportation.

Peckham Incorporated joined forces with the Disability Network in Flint and the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce on Monday to try to fill more than

100 jobs in their call center and manufacturing center in Lansing.

 

FLINT (WJRT) - (04/18/16) - A very special job fair wrapped up Monday in downtown Flint.

 

Peckham Incorporated joined forces with the Disability Network in Flint and the Flint and Genesee Chamber of

Commerce

to try to fill more than 100 jobs in their call center and manufacturing center in Lansing.

 

The company was looking for individuals with disabilities to earn between $8.50 and $13.50 per hour.

 

”Our mission is to help people overcome the barriers they have in order to become successful in life and unlock their potential, and we find that employment

is one of the best ways to help people be successful in life,” said James Adams, of Peckham Inc.

 

Peckham even has transportation setup to take workers from Flint to and from Lansing to work.
