Thanks Mark for sending this along. I just signed up, and they still
have room, especially in the 2 PM session. Currently, there are roughly
7 blind/VI people signed up, but the more the better, especially since
people have different skill levels and visual accuity.
Perhaps we can add this as a quick item to talk about at the board meeting.

Best regards,
J.J.

> Volunteer Voters Needed to Test Proposed Voting Systems The Michigan Bureau of Elections is conducting certification testing for potential new voting systems that may be utilized in future Michigan elections. Part of the certification process includes a Mock Election, where voters and election officials will test and assess the proposed systems. The Mock Election will be held on Friday, May 20, 2016 in East Lansing. Part of the evaluation will include available voting options for use by voters with disabilities. The Bureau of Elections is looking for approximately 15-20 volunteer voters who can assist with testing the new voting system options. The testing will involve a sample State primary ballot containing 16 candidate races and 7 proposals, and multiple vendor systems. Participants would be asked to attend the demonstration for approximately 2 hours, and to provide feedback to State evaluators on their experience with the proposed systems. Three possible time slots are available: 10 am, noon, and 2 pm on Friday, May 20. If you are interested in participating, please complete the following brief online form, or call Election Specialist Tracy Smith at 313-456-2007: Voting System Mock Election Volunteer Form - Disabled Voters These evaluations and the information gathered through these efforts will have a direct effect on the future voting system options in Michigan. Thank you for your willingness to participate in this very important testing process.
