Is there anyone in our affiliate who might want to be a part of the Family Leadership Network? They are looking for individuals who are parents of children or young adults with disabilities, or who are young adults with disabilities. It's a volunteer role, but would be great experience. They need folks from all over the state. Here's the info, but I have not attached the attachments. Email me if you want them or call the number in the text below.
Good morning,

We are pleased to announce that the Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (Family Center) and the Michigan Family to Family Health Information Center (Family to Family) are looking for individuals to serve on our Family Leadership Network (FLN).

In recognition of the importance of family involvement, the FLN was created out of the common need to obtain diverse perspectives from families and receive input on programs and special projects. Family perspectives are highly valued and contribute to a better understanding of experiences with healthcare and other systems in Michigan.

We are looking for individuals who have personal experience as a parent, guardian or caregiver of a child or young adult (up to age 26) with a disability or other special needs; or be a youth (18 or older) with a disability or other special needs. We are seeking two members from each of the Michigan Prosperity Regions. Please review the attached documents if you are interested in volunteering on the FLN.

  1. FLN Information Packet (FLN Position Description, FLN Operating Guidelines, FLN Reimbursement Policy & Form, Map of Michigan Prosperity Regions)
  2. FLN Application

If you would like to apply, please complete the application and return it as instructed by July 28, 2017. After the initial deadline, applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. If you are unable to participate at this time but feel you know another parent or youth who might like to join, please feel free to send this information to them.
