On this week's recorded NFB Presidential Release, Mark Riccobono
spends a lot of time discussing the rationale behind a newly issued
document--a Code of Conduct--that has been made available on the
Federation's Website. The president encourages all of us to read and
to internalize this Code of Conduct, which is found at
https://nfb.org/code-conduct.

Mr. Riccobono emphasizes that the National Federation of the Blind's
goal is to instill a respectful, cooperative, and welcoming spirit in
members and in the activities of the Federation at all levels. This is
to safeguard the integrity of who we are and to make sure all of us
stay on mission, first and foremost, to further the equality,
opportunity, and security of the blind. Being free from even the
appearance of unjust treatment of one another is critical to the
ultimate success of our mission in light of these contentious times
for our society on the whole.

I am sending this e-mail out merely to advise of the importance of
this to members who might not have attended the Michiana Chapter
meeting of this morning where this was discussed, or those who might
not be in the habit of listening to the monthly Presidential Release.

By the way, this month's Presidential Release--particularly near the
end--is rather surprising and is very much worth the listen. It is
#470. https://nfb.org/presidential-releases

Cordially,

Kane Brolin, President
Michiana Chapter, National Federation of the Blind
