The National Federation of the Blind of Nebraska has again arranged
for transportation that is totally free to this year's State
Convention in Columbus, Nebraska. The bus will
depart Omaha on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 5:00 pm. The first pick-up
point will be in Omaha, at the college of St. Mary, and the second one will
be in Lincoln, at approximately 6:00 pm, at the Commission for the Blind
offices. Depending on requests, there may be a third stop in York, which
will be at approximately 7:15 pm, at the Super 8 Motel. The bus will arrive
in Columbus at approximately8:20 pm. The trip, including the passenger pick
up points in Lincoln and possibly York, should be approximately three and a
half hours. Following the convention, the bus will depart at approximately
1:00 pm, following the conclusion of the Sunday morning business meeting on
October 13, 2019. The bus should arrive in Omaha by late afternoon.
This year, the bus trip to Columbus is free to everyone registering for
convention. This is not a mistake, all you have to do is register on-line,
and the cost of your seat on the bus is fully covered by the National
Federation of the Blind of Nebraska. Also, individuals living outside of the
planned bus route, such as the western part of the state are encouraged to
contact President Amy Buresh to request assistance with the cost of
transportation to convention.
These excellent arrangements for travel are made possible through
Fontenelle Tours and Arrow Stage Motor coach Lines.
Reservations can be made when registering for the convention online
at: www.ne.nfb.org/2019
If you are not able for any reason to reserve your seat on the bus using the
online link, or if you need additional information regarding the locations
of boarding sites, please contact Jeff Altman directly at:
debandjeff at allophone.com, or by calling at (402) 489-9458 during evening and
weekend hours to make other arrangements.

I would be happy to help. My attendance will depend on if I receive a
scholarship, because I do not have the funds to attend otherwise. I
will assist in this presentation in any way I can!

Hi Maura,

I’m writing to invite Makenzie to present again this year about her
continuing adventures with the NFBEQ program. This would be Saturday,
October 12th in Columbus at the Ramada.

Saturday morning has meetings for students and other afternoon
programing that may be of interest. The convention begins Thursday
with a social event and some break outs and general sessions. I know
school is in session and that is of top importance. However, we’d love
for you to be our guest Friday night, Saturday and Sunday if you are
able.

If you are not able to participate in person, perhaps you could join
through Zoom for your presentation.

At present, I’m anticipating this part of the program to happen at 1:00.

I hope to see you in Columbus.

Attached and below is more information about the convention.

Please let me know if you are or are not able to make a short
presentation no later than the 27th. I’m trying to finish the agenda
for printing.

Thank you.
