Explanation of terms. Most people who have low vision are not totally
blind, but for the sake of simplicity we will use the term Blind as a catch
all for everyone who is visually impaired.

Objective of event:

The NFB wants all Blind people to live the life they want. What living the
life you want means will be one of the discovery themes of this event.
Meeting other Blind people is hard. Isolation and lack of knowledge on how
to cope with life as a Blind person is a constant problem for many Blind
people.

This event is designed for fellow Blind Omahans to come together and share
their own knowledge and experiences of how to live the life they want. We
want to share best practices on successfully living your life as a Blind
person.

We will have three Areas of expertise that people can explore.

Technology

What devices and applications work the best for Blind people. We will have
hands-on demonstrations of using technology as a Blind person.

Live the life you want

Everything you always wanted to know about enjoying life as a Blind person.
What services and programs are available in Omaha for Blind people. We will
have a contact and resource list available of these services and programs.

NFB table

There is an old proverb that is attributed to the Chinese that "may you live
in interesting times". There has never been a time where so many things
that Blind people take for granted are under assault. It is important for
Blind people to know what is happening, and what they can do to advocate for
their rights. This area will be for people to find out what the NFB is and
what it can do for me and what I can +do as a Blind person to speak to
authority.

Hopefully you can attend this event. If you need assistance with
transportation contact me. So we know how much food and drink to have
