The July meeting of the Virginia At Large Chapter began at 8:05p.m to give all who wanted time to attend to do so. The eight participants went around and introduced themselves and where they were from.

Mark Roane led a discussion on the Blind Car Challenge. What is it? How does the car work? How can a driver know what is around them while driving? Mark discussed how he originally got involved in the project.

The ultimate goal of this experiment is NOT necessarily to put a blind person on the road, instead it is endeavoring to see how much information a blind person can mechanically receive at once.

Members asked many in-depth, thought provoking questions! They were told that if they wished to get involved they should call Anil Lewis at: 410-659-9314.

Following Mark’s presentation Jessica opened the call to callers to express their ideas for future calls. One caller stated that he would like to hear much more on the upcoming state convention. Another stated that she would like the calls to have a personal tone where people could share their experiences.

The call concluded at 9:00p.m

The At Large Chapter meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 8:00p.m
