Accessibility Specialist

Menlo Park, CA
We're looking for an Accessibility Specialist to perform testing on Facebook's desktop and mobile products. This person is responsible for planning and executing a strategy for auditing the accessibility of Facebook's various product offerings, and writing meticulous error reports. This person must be an expert in VoiceOver and JAWS. In addition, this person must have a strong understanding of how assistive technology interacts with CSS, HTML, JS, ARIA and other frameworks. This person would work with the accessibility frontend team to ensure that Facebook produces AT-compatible products. This position is based at our main office in Menlo Park, CA.

Responsibilities

  *   Help plan and execute a strategy for auditing Facebook's desktop and mobile products
  *   Write meticulous error reports for code incompatibilities with VoiceOver (Safari and iOS) and JAWS (IE)
  *   Educate product teams about the mechanics of assistive technology
  *   Evangelize accessibility within a dynamic engineering department
Requirements

  *   Expert knowledge of assistive technology (JAWS, VoiceOver, Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
  *   Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS/ARIA) and their interactions with assistive technology
  *   BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field a plus
