Hi,

Here we are, in the middle of a beautiful October! Here comes Fall, with its
smells, sounds, flavors, get-togethers and many fond memories!

This is also the time when our family gets ready for the annual convention
of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Virginia.

The NFB has transformed my life and countless others. I have truly focused
on working with blind students to help them understand they can live the
life they want. Through Braille focused Summer Camps, High School
,Empowerment programs, Student Scholarships, and Rehabilitative training,
the NFB of Virginia has been a remarkable force in changing public
perceptions and enabling students to achieve their dreams.

At the NFB of Virginia convention at the end of October, we will be running
special programs for

.         Working age adults to help them achieve their career goals;

. Seniors to help them live independently

. Students to learn how to use Metro Rail & Metro Bus; and

. Parents of Blind Children to help them believe in what is possible
for their children.

So where does the $2,500 fit in?

All these programs cost money. To fund these programs, the NFB of Virginia
is running a $2,500 Cash Prize Raffle to be drawn on October 31 and I want
to sell you tickets.

Tickets are $10 for a single ticket or 3 tickets for $20. Feel free to make
me work by filling out 15 tickets for $100. Whatever works within your
budget is fine with me.

Tickets are available for sale at the convention .

Please send me a check made payable to "NFB of Virginia." The NFB of
Virginia is a 501c3 tax deductible organization but I honestly don't know
that your raffle ticket purchases are tax deductible. Please send the check
to :
