> Calling all seniors! This year’s National Federation of the Blind (NFB) of Virginia Convention is bound to be a virtual sensation of inspiration. Come join us Sunday, October 25, to Sunday, November 1 for some fun and enlightening presentations and workshops. Call in to hear the latest and greatest our Affiliate has to offer, including:
>
> Blindness Does Not Define Me: A Seniors Division Seminar - On Wednesday, October 28, join Nancy Yeager and the Seniors Division for a presentation on how Blindness Does Not Define Us. Hear some inspirational stories and learn how modern technology aids seniors in getting done what needs to be done.
> Be Engaged & Informed through General Sessions - Everyone should attend General Session on both Saturday, October 31, and Sunday November 1. Hot button issues such as the importance of voting and our efforts to ensure our voice is heard will be addressed.
> Learn our Positive Philosophy on Blindness - Our National Representative Everett Bacon, President of the Utah Affiliate and National Board Member has an exciting Keynote Presentation lined up for us on Saturday evening. If you are just learning about our Federation philosophy, join us on Friday night at 7:00 PM for the Welcome to the NFB Session.
> Build the Change through Resolutions - If you desire to not only see change but be a part of it as well then join Deepa Goraya at the Resolutions Committee meeting on Friday, October 30 from 5pm to 6pm. All Affiliate members are invited. Come and let your voice be heard.
> Virginia Department for the Blind & Vision Impaired (DBVI) – Take this opportunity to hear from and ask questions of Virginia Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired (DBVI) on Monday, October 26. If you desire to learn more, or wish to get some answers concerning DBVI policies, join Commissioner Hopkins and others from 7pm to 8:45pm for updates and discussions.
> Connect with Old and New Friends- Meet new people, connect with old friends, and celebrate the community we all share!
> Enter the Drawing - If you register by October 18, you get automatically put into a drawing for $100. Since convention registration is free, this is the easiest gamble you will be offered in October.
