We're now 4 days away from the registration deadline for the 62nd annual
state convention. Have you registered yet?.

Meet My Friend and National Board Member Everett Bacon

We are honored this year to have Everett Bacon serving as our National
Representative. Everett is the President of the National Federation of the
Blind of Utah and a member of the Board of Directors of the National
Federation of the Blind.

However, like many of us, Everett has experienced challenges that he has had
to show Federation Grit to overcome:

*	Employment Discrimination - Fired for requesting a reasonable
accommodation for his blindness even though he was recognized as an
exemplary manager in a major company
*	Failure to receive the necessary blindness Skills - Everett had to
hustle to receive the blindness skills he probably should have received
earlier in life.

Through our convention and especially through his keynote address on
Saturday night, you will learn Everett's story of how he has persevered to
become a leader in the blindness movement, the head of field services for
blind people in Utah, an expert in advocacy for audio description, and a
leader in his community.

For more information about Everett, you can read his bio at:

Better yet, register today for our NFB of Virginia state convention and meet
Everett yourself. On Friday night, October 30, Everett will be running a
break out room as part of the October Fest Party. Come to the October Fest
party and take the opportunity to meet everett one on one.

While Everett will be participating throughout the convention, you will hear
from him at 3 major opportunities:

*	Saturday morning as he shares the National report;
*	Saturday night as he shares his story at our keynote address; and
*	Sunday afternoon as Everett and I address your questions on any
topic at our Federation Town Hall.

Registration is free and quick. To register for the convention, visit:
