[nfbwatlk] The ecane

Progress in technology is fine but it needs to be the right kind of
technology. The point is to make our lives easier and better. I don't see
marking all bathrooms and elevators so some cane can locate them any better
than using my current blindness skills.

Hey if it can help me navigate and give me directions in a pleasent robot
voice I'm all for it. I really do wish it would make coffee..maybe they
could work out some kind of dispenser or thermos attatchment? God I just
died a little imagining how great that would be. Besides, there's always
room for improvement, right? I think it's pretty exicting, all these
disability related developments. Then again I am a child of the internet age
and love the idea of being constantly plugged in to real time information.
