Countdown to Link opening

Thirty five days and counting!

Excitement is building for the start of Link light rail passenger service
Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19. That first weekend all Link rides are
free and trains will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to
6 p.m. Sunday. Regular service, along with fares, begins Monday, July 20.
Keep up to date on the latest at:

As we gear up for opening weekend, train testing is now up to 20 hours a day
and also during peak hours in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. As train
testing ramps up, so has our safety awareness in the community.

As part of that awareness, we recently launched the "Zap On Board" Web site
with safety messages designed for kids. I think you'll find it's a lot of
fun for everyone. http://www.soundtransit.org/zaponboard/

We're also worked with local high school students to create their own Link
safety films. The students produced some really creative films that will be
rolled out next Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the new Rainier Vista Boys
& Girls Club, 4520 Martin Luther King Junior Way South, which is close to
Link's Columbia City Station. The films were made by students from Rainier
Beach, South Lake, Seattle Urban Academy, Foster, and Cleveland high
schools.
