Web redesign asking for riders' assistance

If you ride Sound Transit buses or trains today, you might notice something
different. Sound Transit staff and consultants are onboard all day surveying
riders to get feedback on ideas for the redesign of the Sound Transit
website. We're working to make the website easier for riders to navigate and
find the information they want most. Stay tuned for more information later
this year.

Noise reduction work progresses

More work to reduce train noise on the Link light rail line took place this
week as overnight crews installed about 500 feet of noise wall in Tukwila.
The work is being done between 1:30 and 4 a.m., when the trains are not in
service, and will continue for the next five weeks. When complete, the
project will total nearly 5,000 feet of sound barriers along four sections
of the Tukwila elevated trackway where noise levels exceed federal
standards.

Refining options for East Link design

On Wednesday evening, Sound Transit held the last in a series of three
community workshops focused on the portion of the East Link light rail
project along 112th Avenue between downtown Bellevue and Bellevue Way.
Attendance and interest were high for these workshops, intended to identify
community preferences on the six design options under consideration for the
112th Avenue segment.

Another opportunity for public input on the 112th Avenue options is next
Wednesday, July 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall. This
meeting will also include overview information of the South Bellevue
Park-and-Ride Station and the alignment along Bellevue Way in south
Bellevue.

Community response from all of the 112th Avenue option meetings will be
incorporated into a report to the Sound Transit Board. The Board is
scheduled to further discuss East Link and the Board's preferred alternative
running along 112th Avenue at its July 22 Board meeting.

Additionally, Sound Transit and City of Bellevue staff will brief the public
on the Hospital Station technical analysis on Tuesday, July 13, from 4 to 6
p.m. at Bellevue City Hall. This meeting will focus entirely on the Hospital
Station and is an important opportunity for area residents and businesses to
comment on the options.

ST service Sunday for Mariners, Emerald Downs

If your Sunday plans include cheering on the Mariners as they face the
Yankees or playing the ponies at Emerald Downs, Sound Transit trains and
buses can get you there.

Mariners fans can ride Sounder trains leaving Tacoma at 11 a.m. and Everett
at 11:15 a.m., both arriving at Seattle's King Street Station, a short walk
from Safeco Field. Return trains leave 35 minutes after the game ends. Link
light rail and ST Express buses also offer great service to the stadium
district. To find the best transit option from your neighborhood, visit

Sunday also brings Equine Arts 2010 to Emerald Downs, with an art show
during live racing hours. Race fans can take the Sounder train from Tacoma
(leaving at 11 a.m.), Puyallup or Sumner to Auburn Station, where Emerald
Downs offers its Pony Express Shuttle service to the track every 15-25
minutes. While at the races, listen for announcements about the return train
leaving Seattle after the Mariners game ends.
