[nfbwatlk] Fwd: [Chapter-presidents] Help us to bring Mikaela home

Hi,
I can't believe this kind of thing is still going on!!! Sometimes it seems
like things are slowly going backward for blind persons in many ways.

I had trouble at first breast-feeding Lynden because the first milk was
yellowy stuff that she didn't want. So we gave her Pediolyte, and they sent
us home with a whole flat of pediolyte, that she didn't like either. After
a couple months, she still wasn't liking the milk, so we put her on bottled
milk.

But, thank goodness, no CPS ever entered the picture. My dr. even had the
nurses put info on a cassette for me to take home. When I think about it
now, we were really lucky to have an open-minded dr. I think he would have
helped us protest if CPS had come our way.

Now Lynden is 29 and working on her doctorate in Occupational Therapy. She
is currently doing a field work rotation for twelve weeks at Brian Hospital
in Lincoln, NE. She will graduate in Dec. of 11.

But I remember worrying that someone would call CPS on us and take her away.
Thank goodness it never happened.
Thanks
Lauren
