As some of you may know, Larry Streeter was a good friend and a personal mentor of mine, and many others.
I would ask if you are able to help with any amount of a contribution that you would consider helping start this scholarship.
Please share this request with anyone who may assist.
Thank you.

Dear Friends!

A new National Federation of the Blind (NFB) Scholarship for blind students,
pursuing a secondary education, is being established in the memory of a dear
friend of mine, Larry Streeter, by his wife, Sandy, and their daughters,
Erin and Jennifer. Larry and Sandy were instrumental in furthering the
cause of NFB principles wherever they lived, and served in many leadership
positions. Larry earned his Doctorate in Education Administration, a few
years back, and worked tirelessly to ensure quality education for blind and
disabled children, inside and outside the classroom.

It is Sandy's desire to offer a scholarship to deserving college-bound blind
students in the amount of, at least, $5,000, and is inviting family members,
friends, colleagues, and our friends to contribute to a special fund to make
this annual, memorial scholarship happen. The Streeter Family values
education, and Sandy and her daughters want to carry on Larry's legacy of
promoting higher education that will assist blind students to elevate their
quality of life, equipping them to be active, productive participants in
their family, community, and the workplace.

Please consider how you may be a part of this wonderful opportunity to
invest in the future of blind recipients granted assistance to reach their
secondary education goals through the Larry Streeter Memorial Scholarship.
I know that Sandy, Erin, and Jennifer will be very grateful, and Larry would
be extremely proud.

If possible, please deposit your seed contribution by
October 31, 2011, so the initial amount of the scholarship can be
established for application distribution purposes, beginning November, 2011.
However, a contribution may be made at any time.
