Blind mechanic turns wrenches by feel

Bart Hickey lost his father when he was 11. He started wrenching on cars because he thought it would help his mom save money on car repairs and maintenance.

Today, he runs Bart's Auto and Towing in Alsip, Ill. He was born blind. Think about that the next time you find yourself cursing in the garage over a hard-to-reach bolt.

Mercedes-Benz introduced us to Hickey and his shop in a video posted on its mb! by Mercedes-Benz Web site. In the video, he is shown working on cars and talking about what attracts him to the fine art of spinning wrenches. It's definitely worth a look.
