Close on the heels of Graeme McCreath's victory in his human rights case,
Elizabeth Lalonde reported her own victory in her case against the airline
that tried to prevent her from keeping her cane and storing it along the
fuselage. Copy below.

Wonderful news. My filing with the Canadian Transportation Agency regarding
stowing my long white cane and keeping it with me during flight paid off.
See below!

Dear Ms. Lalonde,

Further to your correspondence with the Canadian Transportation Agency,
regarding the placement of your cane on WestJet flights, WestJet has
informed me that it is in the process of updating its flight attendant
manual to reflect the following, which applies to the placement of
canes:

"May be stowed lengthwise along the fuselage sidewall, in an available
overhead compartment, or in the seat pocket (provided the cane is
collapsible)."

WestJet is targeting to implement this as of March 27, 2013.

Thanks kindly,

Kimberly Forkes
