Dear O&Mers,
My name is Sook Hee Choi. I am a deaf woman and the first deaf Certified
Orientation and Mobility Specialist in the US. Currently, I am employed as a
Deaf-Blind Specialist at LightHouse for the Blind in San Francisco,
California.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend the 2016
International DeafBlind Expo in sunny Orlando, Florida! The conference will
take place at the Rosen Plaza Hotel from August 17-20, 2016. As I am sure
many of you are aware, there are limited resources and opportunities
available for learning about how to work with individuals who have both
vision and hearing loss. At this expo, you will have a great opportunity to
observe how a variety of DeafBlind people travel and communicate with
others. In addition, you will have the opportunity to be exposed to
assistive technology that not only aids in communication for this diverse
population, but travel as well.
Furthermore, if you know any DeafBlind individuals or professionals who may
benefit from attending the 2016 IDBE, please pass this information along.
You can find additional information about the expo, how to become an
exhibitor, and register to attend the expo at
www.internationaldeafblindexpo.com
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at
deafblindlh at gmail.com <mailto:deafblindlh at gmail.com>
I look forward to meeting you at the 2016 International DeafBlind Expo!
Thank you,
Sook Hee Choi
