Do you have any info yet on the chapter-at-large? How can we help?

Thanks.

Subject: [NFBWATLK] acton needed on our legislation

Tomorrow we kick off our first Move The Bill day here in Washington state. Contact your House member and Senators and ask them to cosponsor our legislation. Let’s preserve our rights that have been fought so hard to establish and let’s continue to progress with our agenda.

Below is a link to all of our legislation as well as contact information for our U.S. Senators and Representatives.

Today we received word from our Governmental Affairs team in Baltimore regarding that the current tax bill in Congress would eliminate the extra standard deduction for blind taxpayers. If you live in Dave Reichert’s or Suzan DelBene’s districts and ask for the 2 things listed below. Both are members of the House Ways and Means Committee.

1. Please keep the additional standard deduction for the blind by amending HR 1 to on page 25 to remove “and blind” so that it now reads:
“(4) Section 3402(m)(3) is amended by striking ‘‘(including the additional standard deduction under section 63(c)(3) for the aged)’’.”
2. Please offer an amendment to HR 1 providing for the Access Technology Affordability Act (HR 1377).
