Doug Johnson always talked to me at NFB functions. It was like he appeared out of nowhere. He didn't just say "hi" and when I asked how he was, he actually told me.

The Kitsap Sun Newspaper made it official today, that our long time friend and member of the NFB of Washington, doug Johnson has passed away. The paper said he died on March 18. Doug became a member of the NFB when he went to Spokane alone to see what we are all about, as he was becoming blind.

He was a great roommate and all around friend of mine at NFB conventions and other NFB functions. He became an integral part of the affiliate, and took great interest in most of the various activities. He worked on registration for state conventions for many years, and loved to talk with everyone he met. He very much enjoyed traveling, and he and his now late wife Nancy were at most NFB events. He loved fund raising, participating in our auctions, and then took over as treasurer for a few years. I will certainly miss talking football, baseball and other things with my good friend Doug. May he rest in peace.
