The NFB of Washington is celebrating our 40th year of the reorganized and reenergized affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind, and you are invited to the party! On Saturday, April 11, 1981 the National Federation of the Blind of Washington held a convention to renew our commitment to the organized blind movement. We had gone through some difficult times but we came out strong and ready to move. We  rechanneled our focus  to put our efforts squarely to helping blind Washingtonians live full lives and renewed our commitment to being a part of the National Federation of the Blind. Join us this Saturday, April 17, from 4-6 PM Pacific to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Those of us who were there will share our hopes and dreams for our organization from that time, and we will also share some funny stories. We will have a greeting from NFB president Mark Riccobono and hear from past NFB of Washington Presidents, leaders and members. 

Who were the leaders and members of the Federation in Washington in 1981? What role did students play at that time? How can we continue to build on that energy?

Come and share your memories and ask questions about the National Federation of the Blind of Washington. Hear about past and current programs of our organization. We can learn from our history and build an even stronger Federation for the next 40 years and beyond.
