National Federation of the Blind Greater Seattle Chapter Annual Picnic and
BBQ

Details:

Date: Sunday, August 10th

Time: Starts at 3:00 pm

What to bring: Bring friends, family, and guests. Bring any side, appetizers
or desserts you would like to share. Bring 5$ in cash if you would like to
rent a cup for an adult beverage.

Description: The National Federation of the Blind Greater Seattle Chapter is
looking forward to hosting its members and guests in a summer picnic full of
fun, socializing, and friendship. The chapter will be providing the meat for
the BBQ, condiments, and non-alcoholic beverages. We encourage everyone to
come for a free night of fun and connection.

Directions to Noel Nightingale and Jim Peterson's home in the Mt. Baker Park
neighborhood of Seattle.

Address: 3800 S. Ferris Place, Seattle, 98144

Taking the bus: Take the Route 14 bus southbound. (The 14 bus starts out as
a Route 1 bus from lower Queen Ann and turns into a 14 as it travels
downtown.) The Route 14 travels along Third Avenue downtown, turns left
onto S. Jackson Street, turns right onto 31st Avenue S, and eventually turns
right onto S. McClellan Street, where it goes to the Mt. Baker transit
center and stops for a few minutes. Don't get off at the transit center
even though that feels like the last stop. From the transit center, the
Route 14 bus turns right and travels up a hill into the Mt. Baker Park
neighborhood. Get off at the last stop, which is the Hanford Street stop
(right after a big turn which you will notice). Turn left getting off the
bus, walk down to the corner, and cross the street, which is S. Ferris
Place. You will be facing Jim and Noel's home at that point. Turn right
and a few feet on the left is the stairs going up into their yard.

Special thanks to the event planning committee for putting this fun event
together, chaired by: Jacob Struiksma

In addition, special thanks to Noel Nightingale and Jim Peterson for
offering their home, time and contributions for this event.

Please come, enjoy, celebrate, and end the summer with your Federation
friends, family, or soon to be friends/family.

Warm regards,
