Well, the old man is now even older, but he had a splendid birthday! Thanks to everyone for all the greetings and good wishes.

I set out to do four things yesterday to set the tone for the coming year: 
exercise, read, produce a radio show, and enjoy a good meal. Fortunately, I was successful on all counts. I had a good work-out on the bike, along with the Victor Stream; spent the afternoon in the studio; and enjoyed a leisurely dinner (sans "hog peppers"), topped off with a little glass of Southern Comfort.

Incidentally, neither heart surgery nor birthdays exempt me from kitchen clean-up duty and responsibility for loading the dish washer. The cake was fine, but baking it generated a lot of dirty dishes!

Now it's back to the "old grind" for another year.
