Subject: [Nfbwv-talk] 2017 NFBWV Convention Duties

Greetings Fellow Federationists,

I am trying to get a head start on our 2017 NFBWV state convention as my
summer schedule will get much busier with work, fund-raising, alumni,
national convention, church activities, and so much more.

This is just to let everyone know in advance the assignments for chapters
during our 2017 convention to take place at the Holiday Inn and Suites in
Charleston from September 7 to September 10. It is hoped that the sharing
of responsibilities will help make our convention run smoothly and
efficiently.

You will notice that not all chapters will have responsibilities this year
as we are no longer doing as many things during convention. These chapters
will take their turn in 2018.

For all members, please feel free to pitch in during convention wherever you
feel help is needed.

Registration Table: Huntington Area Chapter The chapter in charge of the
registration table will be responsible for collecting convention and banquet
registration fees, handing out name tags and agendas, and providing receipts
when requested. They will also be responsible for collecting the name tags
at the close of the convention.

Members Auction: Kanawha Valley Chapter The chapter in charge of the
Members Auction will coordinate this through Chairperson Sheri Koch. This
chapter will be responsible for making contact with all chapters several
times throughout the year to encourage all members to obtain at least one
item for the auction. This chapter will also be responsible for gathering
auction items at the registration table during registration times. This
chapter will also be responsible for setting up for the auction.

Collecting and Awarding of Door Prizes: Sightless Workers' Guild Please be
aware that during the March 2017 meeting of the NFBWV Board of Directors, it
was decided that door prizes be valued at no less than ten dollars and that
every chapter provide a minimum of two door prizes in the form of cash or
merchandise. This chapter will be responsible for collecting the door
prizes from the registration table. This chapter will also be responsible
for making the name cards that will be used for the awarding of the door
prizes. This chapter will also insure that the door prize gets to the
winner.

If you have any questions and/or suggestions, please let me know.

Charlene
