Man, Service Dog Reportedly Attacked By Pit Bulls In West Hollywood

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) - Authorities are looking for the owner of a pair
of pit bulls that reportedly attacked a West Hollywood man and his service
dog over the weekend.

Billy Lam said he was walking on Fuller Street with his dog, named Crouton,
when two pit bulls mauled them.

"They were clamping down on her so hard that I physically punched a dog over
15 times and it finally let go after that. They were literally trying to
tear her apart. She has four major puncture wounds on her," said Lam, who
was also bitten several times.

 

The victim said the pits were not on a leash and that the dogs and the owner
fled the scene.

"He just said, 'Oh, is your dog okay?' And then just took off," said Lam.

Crouton, a 12-year-old shepherd sheepdog, provides comfort and assistance
for Lam who suffers from anxiety attacks.

She alerts him if he passes out.

"I'm just glad that she's still alive right now," said Lam.

The victim filed a report with the sheriff's West Hollywood station, which
