To The NJAGDU Members and All Who Support Us:

I received the following information both from Lisa Yakomin and through the NJLEG Alert that Dusty's Law was coming before the Law and Public Safety Committee this coming week, December 12 at 2 PM. I asked Joe to have Brian forward this to everyone throughout the NFBNJ requesting them to write.

The message I sent to Joe follows:

Lisa Yakomin, who has advocated for Dusty's Law, has offered a suggestion letter to send to family and friends requesting they write to the Law and Public Safety Assembly Committee. Lisa also included the email addresses of the committee members and a second letter which could be used when writing to the committee.

We of the New Jersey Association of Guide Dog Users Division wish to thank everyone in the NFB New Jersey and our families and friends whom write to the Assembly Committee in support of Dusty's Law A4005.

  Vinny

Subject: Emails to Law & Public Safety Committee

Now that Dusty's Law is on the agenda for Thursday's Law and Public Safety Committee meeting, it would be great if we could rally support via an email blast to the members of the Committee.

This is what I'll be sending out to friends. Feel free to copy, paste and disseminate if you like the wording:

  Dear Friends,

There's an important bill being heard in the Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee on Thursday, December 12th. Dusty's Law (S1907/A4105) provides much-needed safeguards that will help protect guide dog users and the service dogs who work with them. This measure has already passed the NJ Senate unanimously with bi-partisan support, and if we can get it through the Assembly in the next couple of weeks, Governor Christie could sign it into law by January.

Please take a moment to email the members of the committee, and urge them to support the bill.

Their email addresses, which you can cut and paste into your "To" field, are as follows:

asmmainor at njleg.org, asmwilson at njleg.org, asmalbano at njleg.org, asmbenson at njleg.org, asmconnors at njleg.org, asmcryan at njleg.org, asmkean at njleg.org, asmmcguckin at njleg.org, asmpeterson at njleg.org, asmrible at njleg.org, aswwatsoncoleman at njleg.org

  Dear Assembly Representatives,

On Thursday, the Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee will hear testimony on Dusty's Law (S1907/A4105). Dusty's Law will increase safety for guide dog users and help protect service animals from those who might harm them. Please support Dusty's Law S1907/A4105 when it comes before your committee on 12/12/13. Thank you

  Vinny
