Hi all,

I hope you will forgive my shameless plug here, but I currently chair a
committee in the community service group which is planning a service project
to take place in Orlando during the 2014 National Convention. The purpose
of this service project is to demonstrate that blind people can take active
roles in their communities, and to use this as a means for showing the NFB
philosophy. Our project will involve going to an Orlando Head Start program
and teaching lessons to the children about values including tolerance,
diversity, etc. We plan to do this through a variety of activities, as well
as to expose them to braille as a means of showing them what it is and
familiarizing them with the idea that blind people are not as different as
they may think, but plans are still in the works.

I am wondering if anyone on this list would like to join my committee.
Right now I have only one active committee member aside from myself, and
this task is a lot for two people to take on. If you're interested in
service and think this is something that should happen in Orlando this year,
please let me know off list at kaiti.shelton at gmail.com.
