 Presentation Outline: NFB Communities of Faith

1. Opening & Welcome (5 Minutes)

  *   Call to Order: A brief welcome to all attendees and a short opening prayer or moment of reflection (consistent with the group’s practice).
  *   Mission Statement: Remind the group that the Communities of Faith Division exists to ensure that blind people can participate fully in their religious communities.

2. Introduction of Rev. Dr. Carolyn Peters (5 Minutes)

  *   Highlight her Role: Mention her leadership as President of the NFB Communities of Faith Division.
  *   Her Impact: Briefly touch upon her dedication to removing barriers in places of worship and her role in spiritual advocacy.

3. Keynote Presentation (25-30 Minutes)

  *   The Intersection of Faith and Blindness: Moving beyond "charity" to "participation."
  *   Accessibility in the Sanctuary: How to advocate for Braille hymnals, large print, and audio descriptions in religious services.
  *   The Affiliate Vision: What the NFB is doing at a affiliate level to support people of faith.
